ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SHOW NAME: "BCSICTWORLD"ANDTHE CONVENER: MR. A. T. SHAFIQUE UDDIN AHMED
Honorable Members:
We are delighted to bring to your kind notice that a generic name with international flavor for the largest ICT show in Bangladesh has been selected based upon open polls of the honorable BCS Members. The name that has been finally selected for the show is "BCSICTWORLD".
It would be worthwhile to point out here that based upon a decision made at the meeting of BCS Executive Committee held on July 12, 2008, we requested our Members over email on July 14, 2008 to propose a suitable show name. Many of our honorable Members responded to our email proposing few good names. We express our heartiest gratitude for their effort.
Later on, we, at an ad hoc meeting of the BCS Directors, preliminarily selected two names such as "BCSICTWORLD" and "BCSINFOWORLD", and again we circulated over email among the Members to select one of these two. Quite a good number of Members responded and around 80% of them chose the name "BCSICTWORLD", which we honored to finally select it at the Executive Committee meeting held on July 28, 2008.
Further, you might be aware in the meanwhile through the meeting minutes of the Executive Committee that Mr. A. T. Shafique Uddin Ahmed, Vice President of Bangladesh Computer Samity has been selected as the Convener of "BCSICTWORLD 2008" to be held during November 17 - 21, 2008 at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. As such, Mr. Ahmed will co-ordinate and maintain seamless correspondences with all the stakeholders associated with the show.
We would like to request you all to co-operate and provide support in order to make a grand success of the "BCSICTWORLD 2008".
